The next stop was down to the Pest side where we went up close to the cathedral that honors St. Stephen's, the Parliamant, and the shopping area enclosed by Elisabeth and Liberty Bridge. Interesting that inside this huge cathedral, there is no statue of Christ at the center of the altar; it's a statue of St. Stephen's. I gather than he is the patron saint and has the highest honor here in the country.

The next few stops were to see the HUGE historical buildings. Interestingly enough, we entered through some tunnels, which were developed originally to connect the inner castle area and the outer city after the castle was no longer exclusively for royalty. Inside the tunnels you could see the moisture that had collected and had begun to drip water. It was nice and COOL!!!

Lunch was good and of course we had gelato. We're back in Vienna to discover pouring rain and wet laundry, darn! We are leaving here tomorrow,Thursday, to head to Munich by train. Not sure where we are staying or for how long. We're just trying to avoid the heat and find clean rooms that are cheap, too!
